Our love for supercars or better known as 'big boy's toys' is unending. Where Germans have a certified place at making some of the finest supercars available in the market including Audi, BMW, Porsche, Mercedes and more, Italians were not far behind. Yes! We are talking about the most evil Italian supercars, Automobili Lamborghini.
Initially a tractor manufacturing company started making supercars in order to compete with another Italian Supercar giant Ferrari. Founded by Enzo Ferrari, Ferrari N.V. once insulted Ferruccio Lamborghini, the founder of Automobili Lamborghini which persuaded Lamborghini into turning a supercar manufacturer. Whoa! Isn't that inspiring? For our love for this underdog, Italian supercar giant, we present to you some of the rare facts about Automobili Lamborghini.
Ferruccio Lamborghini is Tony Stark
Do you remember the first part of the Ironman series in which Robert Downey Jr. aka Tony Stark uses scrap to build his first suit? Well! During WWII, Ferruccio Lamborghini was stationed on the isolated island of Rhodes as a vehicle maintenance supervisor for the Italian Royal Air Force. Being stuck on an island in the middle of a war forced Lamborghini to utilize scrap to keep his machines running. Now you know who the real-life Tony Stark is.
Besides Centenario, Tractors
We all are well-aware of the fact that Automobili Lamborghini was initially a tractor-manufacturing company which later turned onto making supercars. But do you know that Lamborghini Tractors are still being manufactured and sold? If not a mean-looking Lamborghini supercar, you may opt for a Lamborghini field-plover. They range in price from $30,000 to over $300,000.
First ever Lambo had no engine!
Lamborghini's 350GTV gave birth to the 'supercar' genre of the automobile industry. However, when it was unveiled at the Turin Auto Show it wasn't even finished, so they put a bunch of bricks where the engine should have been and kept the hood shut the entire time.
In the 60s, No Lamborghini means nothing!
In the late 1960s, if you didn't own a Miura, you were nobody. No kidding! However now, they are owned by elite celebrities like Nicholas Cage. But during the 60s, Miuras were driven by people like Saudi King Fahd and Prince Faisal, Rod Stewart, Dean Martin, and Frank Sinatra, who famously said, "You buy a Ferrari when you want to be somebody. You buy a Lamborghini when you are somebody."
Lamborghini Urus is not the first Lambo SUV
Lamborghini previously has also given a shot at making SUVs or we should say 'super-SUVs'. And these SUVs were a hit too which is evident by the fact that celebrities like Sylvester Stallone drove it. Due to which Lamborghini LM002 was also known as the “Rambo-Lambo”.
Motori Marini Lamborghini
You would not know but Lamborghini has won a ton of offshore powerboat championships. And Motori Marini Lamborghini's engines are the most gorgeous internal combustion engines ever assembled with a massive output of 775hp.
