The Best of Milan Fashion Week is here!

by TIMC Monday, February 27, 2017

The game changers and power players of global fashion showcased their flamboyant collections that were not just buzz worthy but sending a strong message!
Dress like you are already Famous.
Milan Fashion Week witnessed massive shows by Moschino, Fendi and Prada with a line up of supermodels, redundant in glamour and style. Catch a glimpse of fashion’s most important shows.

The Best of Milan Fashion Week is here! The legendary Karl Lagerfeld’s showed a red hot collection of practically all things red and incredibly sexy.  In the form of red patent leather boots paired with grey herringbone suits to camel coloured coats to the white silk pleated skirts, everything was to notch. He played with proportion and silhouettes showing petrol blue pencil skirts with tucked-in blouses reaching below the hems, stunning sheer dresses, and a men’s style white shirt and black blazer combo worn by Bella Hadid.

2. Prada

The Best of Milan Fashion Week is here! Miuccia Prada showcased a collection that had broken out of any easy characterization. Inspired ever so slightly by the 70s era, Prada kept it modern with streamlined silhouettes. Fabrics included heavily textured mohair and chunky knits in a vibrant colour palette with delicate embroidery. This collection was bold – green topped yellow topped orange, then on to grandma’s wallpaper florals and sketched prints out of old fashioned pulp fiction. The sense of play was infectious and definitely not for the faint hearted.

3. Moschino

The Best of Milan Fashion Week is here! Moschino’s Jeremy Scott sent out a boisterous collection he called “cardboard couture” inspired by the simple brown box. The show opened with Kendall, Gigi and Bella in looks involving packing tape, “Fragile” belts, and a camel-coloured pea coat stamped, “This side up.” The collection also featured shimmering gowns made out of bubble wrap, collage looks of old Moschino magazine advertisements and plastic flotsam. For all the experimental materials – a trash can lid hat, a toilet paper roll bag – the silhouettes were still classic, from ladylike suits to a sweetheart prom dress.
