Gold Poster: Akshay as a Bengali hockey player is courageous and all business!

by Vibhuti Gupta, Wednesday, June 13, 2018

There's no other way of saying it but Akshay Kumar is the most perfect actor, who can easily pull of every genre there is in the cinematic world. He's been proving his mettle and the makers of his upcoming movie Gold couldn't have agreed more. A new poster of the movie has been revealed and, in a new trend, they've launched English and Hindi versions of the posters.

The film is set to release on this Independence Day!

Sharing the English poster, producer Farhan Akhtar wrote, "All victories begin with a dream. It fills me with immense joy to present to you the official poster of #Gold, a film that is very close to my heart.”

The film is set in the pre-Indian independence era, and Akshay will be seen portraying the role of a Bengali hockey player. Gold is the story of a player who desires to win an Olympic Gold in hockey for independent India, not British India.

The new poster shows Akshay in a rather serious look. It shows the entire team whereas, angry Akshay is seen pulling the Indian tricolour flag from his suit.

Talking about the movie, producer Ritesh Sidhwani said, "It is not a biopic. It is a completely fictional story but it is set against a real backdrop between 1933-48 India about what the country was, the sports... About hockey. It is not based on any character.”

Helmed by Reema Kagti, Gold also features Amit Sadh and Mouni Roy in key roles and will hit the screens on August 15. It marks the Bollywood debut of TV star Mouni Roy.
