Google has a cutest doodle for Noble Laureate Marquez

Renowned for weaving magic with words, Gabriel Garcia Marquez was a very noteworthy novelist, screenplay writer, short-story writer and screenwriter from Columbia.  His depiction of reality was immaculate and transported the reader to the chronicled time-phase. 

Gabriel Garcia Marquez won the nobel prize for Literature in 1982.

Taking every reader into magical realism, Marquez is known for having strong story plots that nearly revolutionized ordinary mind. On the auspicious day of this great writers’ birthday, Google dedicated a very adorable doodle dedicated to him. This lovely google doodle illustrates the surreal city of Macondo described in his book, ‘A Hundred Years of Solitude’


Márquez was fondly called Gabo, Gabito throughout Latin America. He is counted amongst the greatest writers of the Spanish language. Gabriel was rewarded with the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1982. He descended to earth on 6th March 1927, in Aracataca in Colombia. His parents shifted base during his formative years. 


‘Love in the times of Cholera’ writer had a deep desire to write a novel with description of his grandparent’s house where he spent his life growing up. He penned the novel over a period of 18 months that was titled, ‘One Hundred Years of Solitude’ that became a bestseller with more than 30 million copies sold across the world. 


This admirable recognition provided him noble opportunities to facilitate harmony between the rebels and Colombian government. Later, a powerful leader like Fidel Castro also became friends with him. 


He has written over 25 books during his lifetime that includes 'A Hundred Years of Solitude', 'Chronicle of a Death Foretold' and 'The autumn of the patriarch'


Marquez continues to inspire creative people and writers all over the world. The 'Love in the time of cholera' author left this world on 17th April 2014. Google’s doodle dedication brought back golden memories and inspirational moments.
