by Deeksha Kumar, Wednesday, June 20, 2018

Summers are a difficult time for our body. We try to limit our diet and binge eat cold things like ice creams, cold drinks and stuff like that. This is the time when the chances of upsetting your stomach are at the peak. Food is not just eating energy; it's an experience so why not make this experience worth relishing.

Let food be the medicine and medicine be the food

Some edible food items tend to not only cause indigestion or discomfort in your stomach but also can lead to stomach infection. There are some of the food items which you should definitely avoid in summers to help your stomach fight the battle against summers and infection of course.

Let’s see what advice our experts have for all of us-

Avoid spicy food

We all like spices in our food as it adds a scrumptious taste to our food but too many spices heat up our body, leading to discomforts in the stomach.

Avoid sauces

Most of the sauces especially cheese sauce contains a lot of calories which can make you feel bloated and lethargic. Also, some of the sauce contains MSG and salt in a larger amount which is again problematic for your stomach.

Avoid oily junk food

Oily junk food usually comes with a problem of acidity. These oils are not much advisable during summers. Avoid having oily food in a larger quantity or use minimal oils.

Non-vegetarian feast

All these non-veg gravies and dry chicken as well cause digestion problem in summers as they are really heavy for the stomach. Also, they make a person sweat a lot.

Avoid salty snacks

These salty snacks contain Monosodium Glutamate (MSG). Excess intake of MSG leads to increased appetite and weight gain.

Take care of your stomach as everything in your body is linked to your stomach. Fitness starts at home. What you eat is what you will look like, and we are sure you want to look your best. Eat good food: eat fruits, vegetables, healthy grains and avoid all these above-mentioned food items at least during summers. Stay tuned for more Health and Lifestyle related updates.
