Quantico: Why did the last episode enrage Indian fans?

by Vibhuti Gupta, Wednesday, June 06, 2018

It's been rough on the team and crew of ABC Studios' TV series Quantico, as they've cancelled the American drama series in the light of decreasing ratings. Moreover, the last episode of season 3 has angered Indian for a plot twist involving a Hindu terrorist.

PeeCee will be next seen in A Kid Like Jake

In the last episode title The Blood of Romeo, Alex Parrish (Priyanka Chopra) and her team at the Federal Bureau of Investigation discover that a nuclear physics professor at the Hudson University has stolen Uranium 235 from the institute’s premises, which can only mean one thing – a nuclear explosion is being planned in Manhattan. This incident happens just days before a India-Pakistan peace summit over the Kashmir issue in New York, so the fingers automatically points at Pakistan.

Working in and through the case, we later see that  it was all a plan by Indian nationalists to frame Pakistan in a nuclear attack, thereby scuttling the talks and winning the United States of America over to their side for good.

After this, Indian audience slammed Priyanka on Twitter expressing their outrage at the insinuation that an Indian could be a terrorist. In particular, they took umbrage at the fact that Chopra, whose international stardom has made her a quasi-ambassador for India for her fans at home, could seemingly malign her own country.

On the work front, Priyanka will be working in Hollywood with A Kid Like Jake and in Bollywood, with Ali Abbas Zafar's Bharat co-starring Salman Khan.
