Scary food ideas to spice up your Halloween supper

by TIMC Monday, October 30, 2017

Halloween or All Hallow's Eve is a scary celebration observed in a number of countries around the globe. Halloween is celebrated by both Christians and non Christians but is more popular for its unique celebration style which involves dressing up as ghosts or evil spirits.  Adorable ghost-like dressed children then pay door to door visits to their neighbors which treat them with delicious sweets or trick to scare them away.

Trick or Treat!

This fun ritual which is vastly being followed in the western world has made this festival more popular than ever. In our nation, Halloween is not celebrated with such intensity and enthusiasm. However, it surely calls for some socializing and fun celebration. In order to spice up supper for your ‘at-home Halloween get-together’ with friends and family, we hereby provide you some crazy food tricks:

Marshmallow Spiders

Ingredients: Marshmallows, Pretzel Sticks, White chocolate, coconut oil and round candy balls.

Method: In a small bowl, microwave white chocolate in 30 second intervals on low until completely melted. Then dip eight pretzel sticks in the melted white chocolate for making the legs of spiders. Now use white melted chocolate as a gum for pasting round candy balls on a marshmallow for making its eyes. Similarly paste eight chocolate dipped pretzels to that marshmallow and your Marshmallow spiders are ready for being served. You may use these spiders to top a hot glass of chocolate milk for treating your loved ones.

Men's Toes

Ingredients: Natural red food color, some blanched almonds, eggs, bread crumbs, potatoes, cooking oil and flour

Method: Place a small amount of food coloring and, using a paintbrush, color the rounded side of each split almond; set aside to dry. Cut potatoes in the shape of finger-chips and let it boil in saline water for 15 minutes. Once boiled, drain the water and keep the boiled potatoes aside. In a bowl, add one egg, 100gm of flour and bread crumbs. Knead it properly until thick dough is obtained. Now one by one, wrap each of the boiled potato chips in the dough prepared and stick a colored almond at the end of it (with round side on the top). Heat cooking oil in a frying pan and light fry these finger chips. Serve these chips with tomato ketchup for giving it a bloodier and scarier feel.

These two food recipes will surely not only pamper the taste buds of your loved ones but will spook them as hell as well. Therefore, enjoy Halloween celebrations better than ever before using these two quirky food tricks.
