Skipping breakfast can be one cause of your illness

by Deeksha Kumar, Sunday, June 03, 2018

Do you often skip your breakfast because you wake up late or you are too lazy to cook it? Breakfast is the first meal of the day and should not be avoided because breakfast is itself your overnight fast breaker. Just imagine you sleep around 11 pm and wake up around 11 am then without having breakfast you leave home empty stomach and you have lunch in the afternoon, will your body be active and energetic enough to do the daily chores? No, because just like your car requires fuel to run, the same your body requires food to get rid of that lethargic feeling.

Taking a proper breakfast restores the glucose levels in the body and lowers the stress level

Having breakfast is not enough; one should take an exemplary breakfast. Instead of focusing on a heavy, fried or junk food breakfast, one should focus more on having cereals, milk, nuts, poha, idli, daliya, upma, cornflakes, eggs, fruits and all the other protein related food items. It is advisable to take breakfast within an hour of waking up. Doctors usually recommend eating something after every two hours. Eating proper breakfast reduces the risk of obesity and high blood pressure. Skipping meal leads to various complications like:-

Diabetes

If you skip your breakfast, especially women it leads to type 2 diabetes. You become prone to develop diabetes because it leads to chronic insulin resistance.

Hair loss

A healthy breakfast influences the growth of hair follicle. A balanced diet includes adequate protein amount required, a lower protein level affects the levels of keratin and lowered levels of keratin can increase the risk of hair loss.

Heart disease

The people who take a healthy breakfast has a much lower risk of heart problems as compared to the ones who skip breakfast. Skipping breakfast leads to hypertension, obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes which slowly and gradually develop into heart diseases.

Migraine

Not having a proper breakfast leads to lower sugar levels which ultimately mean lower glucose levels. Also, it increases blood pressure resulting in migraine and headaches.

As Josh Billings has aptly said that “Never work before breakfast; if you have to work before breakfast, eat your breakfast first”. So don’t affect your health by skipping your breakfast when already in today’s time diseases are spreading like a virus.
