Swara Bhaskar urges women to be `free` of traditional mindset

Actress Swara Bhaskar took the opportunity on International Women's Day to advise women on tackling negative traditional mindset. The 28-year-old actress spoke during an acceptance speech at the Delhi Commission for Women Annual Awards.
Be shameless and free of the burden of these values.
She received the honour for her vocal views on women issues in the country. “In a developing society, why isn't the traditional mindset sparing us?Swara questions. “Be shameless and free of the burden of these values. Be selfish now onwards,” she asserted. Swara Bhaskar urges women to be `free` of traditional mindset Swara also stressed on the societal values that remain different for boys and girls. “We women are told to suppress our wishes and dreams,” she said. However, she advised to not burden yourself with any such values anymore. “Be free! Don't think about how people will react. That'll be great for the whole society,” Swara quipped.
