The much-anticipated film “Fighter,” starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, is facing a lackluster response in terms of advance bookings, just one day before its release on January 25, 2024. Despite having A-list actors and the advantage of a Republic Day holiday release with minimal competition, the film’s pre-release buzz seems to be hampered by subdued promotional efforts.
Typically, the days leading up to the release are crucial for generating substantial pre-booking sales, resulting in fast-filling and housefull shows across theaters. However, “Fighter” is struggling to witness significant growth in advance bookings, with only one day remaining until its release.
The latest box office updates reveal that “Fighter” has accumulated a total of 5.25 crores gross (excluding blocked seats) through advance bookings, reflecting a 41% increase compared to the previous day’s earnings of 3.72 crores gross. Despite selling around 1.65 lakhs+ tickets, achieving the 10 crore mark via advance booking sales appears challenging for the film.
This disappointing trend is surprising given the film’s grand scale and the director Siddharth Anand’s recent successes with “War” and “Pathaan.” In comparison, Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dunki,” a non-massy action film released earlier, managed to garner around 15.50 crores gross through pre-booking sales.
As the film desperately needs a significant boost, it remains to be seen if “Fighter” can witness a magical turnaround on its release day. The current box office numbers are estimates and from various sources, yet to be independently verified by Koimoi. Stay tuned to Koimoi for more updates on the box office performance of “Fighter.”
